Microsoft’s worst third quarter ever – Computerworld Blogs
April 24th, 2009
So MSFT’s lack of ability to keep their eye on the ball is finally catching up with them. Now I know times are hard, etc, but for MSFT to actually see a decline in revenue, not just a missed goal is pretty darn significant.
Maybe this will be a wake up call that Redmond will listen to. The IT industry doesn’t take prisoners, it eats its own. IBM, ICL, SGI more recently Sun all suffered a huge shift in their industry positions after making one fatal mistake – Thinking they knew better than their customers.
MSFT is a big ship to turn around, it’s going to be interesting to see how and if they can do it.
