Apple’s WWDC 09 conference for iPhone and Mac developers sells out for a second year

April 28th, 2009

For the second year in a row Apple’s annual World Wide Developer’s Conference in San Francisco has sold out weeks before the event. This year all tickets were snapped up earlier than for 2008′s conference, implying that demand was even higher despite our economic woes.
Riding high on the success of the iPhone App Store, the swing towards Apple isn’t only coming from users looking for a better computer experience but from developers who see a clear advantage in Apple’s on-device distribution mechanism. How long will it be before Apple realizes that iTunes could ship Mac software too? Can’t be long, I bet!
WWDC is no TechEd in size or scope and I’m not sure if two years can be said to make a trend but whatever way you look at it, this is yet more good news for Cupertino.
