Most other smart-phones look like a student design project when compared tot he iPhone. Here’s a student design project that could be a iPhone killer. Taking gorgeous to the next level it wins on looks alone but as we all know a pretty face does not a winner make.
When your price collapses this quickly you know you’re not an iPhone killer. A few short months after their well accepted launch, the Palm Pre family of smartphones are hitting the bargain bin with a thud.
Verizon is n a price cutting spree for sure but now the Pre is up on a buy 1 get 1 free deal. Not the ld Pre, but the new Plus models. Given the buzz at launch you’d have thought that these puppies would have held their price longer.
the iPhone shrugs…
Cloud computing is the current darling of the IT business. Companies all over are looking for new and exciting services to bring to market with no or low client footprint. Read more…
Lately I’ve noticed a depressing plumet in half-way objective blogging about Apple on certain “mainstream” web sites. All too often are they rushing to beat the drum on how Snow Leopard is just like Windows 7 – a bug fix… Dream on people.
AT&T have already sold out of their initial shipment of iPhone 3GS units. If you haven’t already placed your pre-order (and received a confirmation) then try Apple instead as it’ll be a while before AT&T have them back in stock. Read more…
One of things you have to trade off as a tech vendor is what you share with your partners & customers and what you keep secret. Apple is at one end of the spectrum with their legendary secrecy. Intel might be thinking about taking a page from their book as their small form-factor CPU roadmap for the next two years gets leaked to the press. Read more…
There have been rumors flying around for months (if not years) about the “soon the be released” Apple tablet computer. The closest we’ve come so far to actually getting such a device has been the iPhone. Portable, connected and pretty full featured, internet-wise and built on the cult of the Newton.. However at heart, it’s still a phone (albeit a frakkin amazing one! – yes, Fanboi – yawn). Read more…
The faceBook app for Windows Mobile is finally released. There are a ton of reviews of it out there so I won’t try to repeat them or paraphrase. I guess really all you need to do is take a look (click the images for a closer look). WinMob on the left vs iPhone on the right. Which would you chose? (PS. I’m not a PC!)
Our good friends over at MacRumors picked up on BoyGeniusReport that shows the iPhone 3.0 firmware was support for not only the current accelerometer but the ability to log motion and compass heading.
If, like me, you’re a fan of 80’s music you’ll know, unless you’ve been living under a rock, that Depeche Mode have just released their long awaited follow up to “Playing the Angel” called “Sounds of the Universe”. I’ve got to admit that the album is still growing on me with the first single release “Wrong” being a huge stand out. Read more…
Apple’s shiny newversion of itsiPhone OS is getting close to release. Beta builds are coming more frequently and WWDC is just a few weeks away. Coincidence? I think not. Read more…
OK. The Swine Flu thing just jumped the shark!
Oh I can’t wait. This is going to be hilarious!!! ZunePhone – ROAR.
I’ve been using Juxtaposer for a while. It’s a rock solid little app. Macworld’s review of the latest version will give you a good feel for how easy it is to get creative with the images on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
For anyone who travels or likes to keep up with their favorite TV shows when they are on the go, SlingBox is a great solution! Now the introduction of the iPhone client app is getting close and AT&T have backed down from their ridiculous position on video over the 3G network.
Let the pocket sized tailgating begin!
Here’s some interesting data on mobile device adoption. The iPhone and iPod Touch combined generate 6 times the amount of web traffic than Motorola’s Razr, even though there are more than 6 times the number of Razr’s in circulation.
Goes to show, Steve is right. The software IS the user experience.
We’re coming up on the anniversary of the iPhone 3G announcement at last years WWDC. It is understandable therefore that rumors are already starting to circulate about the next revision of the iPhone hardware.
Macrumors via Engadget have a nice screen shot of a video upload feature that isn’t live in the iPhone 3.0 beta but is included in the software. The current iPhone hardware doesn’t support video capture (at least not up to Apple’s standards) so this could point to some pretty nice new features coming when the new hardware ships.
To be honest I surprised it took them this long to get started on it. Apple probably needs to figure out which one of its “we’re sworn to secrecy under pain of death” developers is either the hacker or the hacker’s friend but in the meantime it looks like the wheels are turning to liberate the next generation of iPhones from the evil clutches of AT&T
I really hope someone at Apple sees this and does something about it because this takes absurdity to new heights.
I’d be surprised if the Spice Girls could even find their iPhones.. This is a really cool piece, especially if you’re into music or <ahem> iPhones…
Oh, no he didn’t….! Word to the wise, data roaming is bloody expensive (even if you do pay up front for the int’l data roaming package).
Or you could do this right now by buying a copy of HoudahGeo and a compatible GPS tracker (just about any GPS tracker will do) and not have to wait for mythical iPhoto updates that might, or might not give you what you’re hoping for. Ahem.
Haven’t these people heard of pockets? Looks like a great way to get your iPhone/Pod ripped off in a hurry. (un-dangled)
